Chaos Axes are sexier than Crystaline swords. Swords are for n00bs. Use an axe.

(just kidding about the n00b part.)

I actually found a Crystaline sword in Mineral Springs.

noob question: Is it possible to add fire damage to it? And if so, how?

Yes, Hoh = Hall of Heroes. And by winning your team gets 3sigils (that randomly are given to people on your team along with one ALWAYS gold Unid something (could be a unid gold armor, or a sword). They usually come in maxdamage and low requirement, so you can sell it for nice when its unid.

And Yes it is possible to add fire damage by using a "Fiery Sword Hilt". In all swords you can have 1 hilt and 1 pommel. Pommels can do stuff like (+30Health) while Hilts are more along the line of changing the damage or Armor Penetration / Double Adrenaline etc.

Superior runes
Weapon upgrades
Better-looking weapons
Unidentifed runes
Unidentfied weapons
Weapons with stats not available in PvP (+5 energy >50% health)

Or, you COULD ebay it...
